On 2 December, the Faculty of Philology held an annual Russian Fairy Tale Festival, which this year marked the 190th anniversary of Alexander Afanasyev, a Slavist who studied the culture of the Slavic nations, collected and published folktales and Russian fairy tales.
The Festival was organised by the students of the “National Philology” education programme, the “Publishing” programme, and the “Arts and Humanities” programme, as well as by students of the international department of the Faculty, and students of the Faculty of Humanities of Voronezh State Pedagogical University. The atmosphere at the festival was warm and cheerful.
The event also included an award ceremony for the winners of the children drawing competition based on Afanasyev's fairy tales. Following the previous year's tradition, the works selected by the jury were included in a calendar in memory of the festival.
