The National Karate Championship, WKF 2017, concluded in Moscow in the sport complex “Sambo–70”. Over 400 athletes from over 50 Russian regions took part in the competition.
A student from the Law Faculty of Voronezh State University, Alexandra Lidzhieva, became the bronze winner of the Championship. It was Sasha’s first competition in the senior category. She beat the competitors from Ugra and Rostov, and lost a controversial point to an athlete from Ufa who became the winner of the tournament. She also defeated the representative from the Moscow region, confirmed her qualification, and won the bronze medal.
