A basketball championship qualifying round in the Central Black Earth Student League of the Student Basketball Association was held between 10 and 11 March.

A basketball championship qualifying round in the Central Black Earth Student League of the Student Basketball Association was held between 10 and 11 March. The team of Voronezh State University took first place and became the only team that will represent Central Black Earth Region at the national championship which will take place in Volgograd between 6 and 8 April.

The team is comprised of: Pavel Bredikhin (the Faculty of Computer Sciences) – the captain, Ilia Krutskikh (the Faculty of Physics), Igor Skladchikov (the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Informatics, and Mechanics), Lev Todinov (the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Informatics, and Mechanics), Maxim Kononov (the Faculty of Economics), and Yury Salomatin (the Faculty of Geography, Geoecology, and Tourism). The team is coached by Maria Yanishevskaya.

Our congratulations to the athletes with the victory! We wish them every success in the upcoming competitions.
