On 8 April, the national event "Worthy of Being a Cosmonaut" dedicated to Day of Cosmonauts took place in Voronezh State University. The event was held with the support of the Association of sport clubs in Russia and VSU organisation "Predatory Beavers". Among the participants were students from 17 major universities from Khabarovsk to Krasnodar.

20 students passed the qualification competition. They reached the qualifying standards in many ways similar to Ready for Labour and Defence standards that are used to check physical fitness of cosmonauts.

Two participants from each city with the biggest score will take part in the national finals of the event, which will be held in spring and will be dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the launch of the first sputnik. At the national competition, Voronezh will be represented by a student from the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Informatics, and Mechanics, Vladimir Mishin, and a student of a secondary vocational education programme at the Faculty of Pharmaceutics, Alina Aseeva.

Our congratulations to the winners and good luck in the finals!
