On 17 May, within the framework of European Week in Central Russia, Rector Dmitry Endovitsky had a meeting with a delegation from Zagreb (Croatia), headed by Hana Horak, head of the Department of Law at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Zagreb and the coordinator of the InterEULawEast Tempus project aimed at development of master's degree programme "European and International Law” at universities in Russia and Ukraine. Among other participants of the meeting were the head of the Department of International and European Law, Pavel Birukov, and the director of the International Project and Programme Centre, Alla Akulshina.

The guests were welcomed by the rector, Dmitry Endovitsky.

“A lot of delegations from our partner universities in Europe are now coming to our university forum a large international forum. A couple of months ago I participated in a coordination meeting of the "European and International Law” programme held at Moscow State Institute of International Relations. We discussed the mechanism of network cooperation within the the programme. Our Russian partners are highly motivated to take part in the programme. We are also working on another project – master’s degree programme “International Human Rights Protection”. All the meetings we have with our European partners are aimed at the discussion of the ways of harmonisation of higher education. Our joint project fits this ideology.”

Hana Horak thanked Dmitry Endovitsky for collaboration:

“The major objective of the project is to raise awareness of the European Union. Voronezh State University has been of great assistance to us. We have already achieved great results. Awareness of EU and the European law is vital for the development of tolerance and serves as an incentive to move further.”

Hana Horak presented VSU administration with a book on European law written by researchers of partner universities. She also said that the first 12 graduates of the joint master’s degree programme had already got their diplomas.

Dmitry Endovitsky invited our colleagues for the celebration of VSU centenary.
