Volunteers of Buddy Club VSU – a system of curators for foreign students of Voronezh State University – organised an international cooking day for students.
They invited the chefs of Gubernia, a local restaurant to give two master-classes – on how to make Schi Voronezhskiye (a cabbage soup) and Pryazhentsy Voronexhskie (fried stuffed buns).
The chiefs also told students about the specifics of local cuisine and Russian cuisine in general. All the participants could take part in cooking and trying the Voronezh cuisine. Apart from the Schi and Pryazhentsy there were also pickles and sea buckthorn juice.
The event was attended by 22 international students from Russia, Hungary, Uzbekistan, France, and China. After the masterclasses, the students together with volunteers learned how to dance Russian traditional dances. The international students greatly enjoyed the event and participated actively both in cooking and dancing.
