The Head of the Laboratory of Medical Cybernetics of Voronezh State University, Yaroslav Turovsky, carried out the workshop “Human-Computer Interfaces: Ocular Interface, Respiratory Interface, and Biofeedback Systems” at Stroganov Moscow State Academy of Industrial and Applied Arts. The event was held as a part of the international project for advanced research in the area of design “DESIGN AREA”.
Among the participants of the workshop were students from the Department of Industrial Design of Stroganov Academy, the Department of Design of National Design Institute, and the Department of Design of the Institute of Humanities and Applied Sciences of the National Research University (Moscow Power Engineering Institute).
Yaroslav Turovsky told the audience about the operations of new human-computer devices that enable computer processing of brain activity signals, eye movements, myoelectrical activity, and breathing parameter changes as well as execution of the required commands by executive mechanisms when such signals are recorded.
Voronezh State University has been involved in active cooperation with the Department of Industrial Design of Stroganov Academy for many years. Jointly developed interface technologies have been used by the students of the department in their theses and projects.
