Associate Professor from the Faculty of Chemistry of Voronezh State University, Oleg Kozaderov, received a grant from the French government within the framework of the “Mechnikov 2017” programme. The aim of the programme is to support academic mobility among Russian researchers. It provides grants to Russian scientists who are invited to carry out their research in laboratories of French universities, organisations, or enterprises.

Oleg Kozaderov’s project, which received the support of the expert committee of the grant contest, is dedicated to investigating the problem of electrochemical and corrosion behaviour of nickel-zinc alloys in aqueous electrolyte solutions.

In November and December, the researcher visited the research laboratory “Interfaces, Electrochemistry, Energy” at the National Chemical Engineering Institute in Paris (L'Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Paris). The scientist from VSU conducted research, received interesting experimental data, and modelled selective dissolution of nickel-zinc intermetallic compounds in neutral chloride media. He also discussed the results of the research with his French colleagues and they agreed to use them in a joint publication in an international journal. Additionally, they discussed practical aspects of the joint master’s programme “Modern Theoretical and Applied Electrochemistry” which is implemented under a cooperation agreement which was concluded between Voronezh State University and National Chemical Engineering Institute in Paris in 2016.
