On 5 January, Oleg Sekhniev, a member of the National Chamber under the aegis of the governor of the Voronezh Region and owner of the sports facility “Sogdiana”, invited the international students of Voronezh State University to take part in a festive event for children of various nationalities as well as for children from poor families and orphans. The event took place at the “Sogdiana” facility. A student from Congo told the children about New Year traditions in Africa and sang some New Year songs.
The event called “New Year all over the world” was organised by the Regional Policy Department of the Government of the Voronezh Region, and members of the National Chamber under the aegis of the governor of the Voronezh Region who have been collaborating with the Institute of International Education of Voronezh State University for a long time. Among the joint projects are the International Song and Dance Festival, the International Festival of National Cuisine, and the festival of artistic teams and performers “Multinational Voronezh”. International students of VSU regularly take part in various events organised by their national communities.
