On 11 April, annual charity event “Make children happy” was held in the hall of the main building of Voronezh State University. It was organised by representatives of the volunteer club of the Faculty of Geology “Zernyshko”.
Students, lecturers, and guests to the university took photos with a plush baby mammoth and donated money to buy Easter presents for orphans and disabled children.
Rector of VSU, Dmitry Endovitsky, also took part in the event:
‘We will not have a future if we don’t help children. Socially disadvantaged children need special attention. Any person who can help should help!’
‘I help children because I want our world to be a kinder place where there is more love, happiness, and happy children. I want to thank the leaders of the club “Zernyshko”, Maria Khovanskaya and Maria Yurova,’ said a 1st year student from the Faculty of Geology, Oxana Kobzeva.
‘It is a wonderful event which is held during the Easter week. It is dedicated to love, joy, and help for the little people who really need it,’ said the Head of the Department of Ecological Geology of the Faculty of Geology, Irina Kosinova.
Volunteers of the club “Zernyshko” took the most active part in the event. They told everyone who was interested all about it. The leaders of the club expressed their gratitude to all volunteers of the club and all the participants of the event who tried to make children happy. The money which was raised during the event will be spent on necessities, presents, and sweet things for orphans and disabled children.
At the end of the event, the volunteers released colourful balloons into the air in front of the main building of the university, which symbolised the dreams and happiness of children.
