On 21 April, a volunteer clean-up took place at Kozo-Polyansky Botanical Garden of Voronezh State University prior to International Earth Day. Volunteers picked up and sorted out rubbish in the Garden, whose territory is 3.5 hectares.
Among the participants of the clean-up were representatives of the Department of Natural Resources and Ecology of Voronezh region, the Centre of Environmental Policy, the staff of the Botanical Garden, and students from VSU. Residents of the neighbouring apartment complex “Botanical Garden” also took part in the event.
Prior to VSU’s centenary, a number of reconstruction events are planned in the Botanical Garden, which is a specially protected natural territory, including the renovation of the water reservoir, planting of landscape arrangements, and other activities.
