On 4 May, the jubilee entertainment contest, Miss Physics, was held by the Faculty of Physics in the University Hall. For 15 years, first year female students of the Faculty of Physics have been demonstrating their beauty and talents onstage.
‘We borrowed the idea of the completion from Saint Petersburg State University. Alexei Protopopov and I created a beauty and intelligence contest for the female students who studied at the Faculty of Physics then. We made a poster, which showed a girl with plaited hair. Ironically, the winner of the contest looked very much similar to the girl on the poster. The audience of the first Miss Physics contest included 28 people apart from the participants,’ said Andrei Plaksitsky, a creator of the contest.
Now, the house is full during the Miss Physics event. In 2018, over 400 people visited the event.
Three titles were awarded to the participants: Miss Physics, Vice Miss Physics, and Miss Charm. The last title is awarded as a result of the voting among the audience.
Natalia Rybina became Miss Physics 2018, Yulia Totskaya received the title of Vice Miss Physics, and Inna Staroverova got the title of Miss Charm.
