The human rights commissioner in the Voronezh region, Professor at the Department of Constitutional and Municipal Law of the Faculty of Law of Voronezh State University, and Honoured Lawyer of the Russian Federation, Tatiana Zrazhevskaya, was awarded with a medal for serving the Motherland of 2nd class. It was granted by V.V. Putin presidential decree of 29 June 2018 № 377 “State award of the Russian Federation”. The award distinguished Tatiana Zrazhevskaya’s achievements, her active public work, and many years of commitment to its work.
For over 10 years, the Faculty of Law of VSU has had the master’s programme “Protection of human rights” that includes lectures by the human rights commissioner in the Voronezh region. Professor Zrazhevskaya gives courses dedicated to the history and peculiarities of human rights activities and the institute of human-rights ombudsmen, “Contemporary issues in human rights protection”, and “Status of human rights commissioners”. Undergraduate and postgraduate students of Voronezh State University regularly complete in onsite and pre-graduational practical training in subdivisions of the human rights commissioner administration.
It should be noted that the Faculty of International Relations has a master’s programme “International Protection of Human Rights” which was prepared under the aegis of the consortium of Russian universities (VSU has been its member since 2015) with the support of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. The programme is at the intersection of international law, international relations, global politics, global economy, and global studies.
