An unusual present was prepared by the International Education Institute of Voronezh State University for international graduates – a beautiful brochure dedicated to the university’s 100th anniversary. They were given to students at the graduation ceremony.
The brochure tells about the main stages of the 60-year old history of international education at VSU and gives a brief overview of the process of establishing an international education institution within the university. It also contains a list of the present members of the International Education Institute, and thus allows the readers to evaluate the activities of the institute and to see its goals and strategies.
The main focus of the brochure, however, is on the alumni: those who graduated this year as well as those who studied at VSU years or even decades ago. In their essays, interviews, and touching letters to their teachers, VSU alumni talk about their university years in Russia. They also sincerely congratulate the university on its 100th anniversary.
The brochure is meant to help our graduates remember their warm memories of the university, as well as to be a nice surprise for the guests invited to the celebration of VSU centenary.
We are all well past our studies, but our university years will always remain the best time in our lives, when we felt ourselves fit for this world. We discovered that we actually mean something and can change the world for better. That each of us can do something for their own countries, and together we can change the whole world! I believe this feeling is there to stay, and it was born thanks to our alma mater – Voronezh State University. It gave us profession, helped to find a good place in life, and deep inside we all remain natives of a small but beautiful planet - Planet VSU. I hope it will always be a part of the solar system of our life,” – said the Director of Voronezh State University International Education Institute, Vladimir Rodionov in his welcoming speech to the graduates.
