On 12 September, members of the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency of the European Commission and Erasmus+ national office in Russia began an institutional monitoring of the projects implemented by VSU.

The expert committee includes Anne Spangemacher, Project Officer of the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency of the European Commission in Russia, Olga Oleinikova, Head of Erasmus+ national office in Russia, and Anna Muravieva, the Deputy Director of national office Erasmus+ in the Russian Federation. As part of their visit their had a meeting with the rector of VSU Dmitry Endovitsky.

“We work in close collaboration with European universities. In 1961, VSU joined the programme of international education, and later it was one of the first universities to develop a course “Russian as a foreign language”. It is of great importance for us that our university takes part in large collaborations. Such European projects help to bring together researchers from various countries. Taking part in these projects allows our students and teachers to complete internships at partner universities, and to develop new academic programmes that meet the requirements of the EU”, said the rector.

“I have analysed the university’s activities within various international projects, and I see that the infrastructure and the university facilities are developing. I was pleased to see that the results you’ve managed to achieve here are quite good”, – said Anne Spangemacher.

The Director of the International Project and Programme Centre, Alla Akulshina, is a member of the Council of Europe in the field of higher education.

The monitoring also included discussions of certain issues, publication of a special issue of the journal “Proceeding of Voronezh State University” dedicated to the internationalisation of higher education, and the opening ceremony of an exhibition in the first floor hall of the main building.
