As a part of VSU’s centenary festivities, the Faculty of Philology had a meeting with lecturers from Balkan universities. The Dean of the Faculty of Philology of Belgrade University, Professor Liliana Markovic, and Extraordinary Professor, Divna Trickovic, gave a lecture for students. The professors told the audience about their faculty, its history, structure, and programmes. They also presented the unique method used to teach foreign languages which had been developed at the Faculty of Philology of Belgrade University.
The VSU Publishing House Director, Dmitry Diakov, and Associate Professor from the Faculty of Philology, Vladimir Gusakov, spoke about the unique publication which had been prepared by the VSU Publishing House with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Serbia, a collection of Serbian war prose “War Epitaph”. The book was published in Russian for the first time (translation by the lecturer from VSU’s Faculty of Philology, Sofia Zabolotnaya).
A lecturer from the Faculty of Philology of Goce Delcev University (Republic of Macedonia) and translator of Russian fiction into the Macedonian language, Kostadin Golakov, gave a welcoming speech. He told the students about the “Philology, Culture, and Education” scientific conference, which was held in collaboration between the Faculty of Philology of VSU and the Faculty of Philology of Goce Delcev University. He also spoke about academic exchange programmes which are being prepared by the universities.
During the meeting, the Faculty of Philology of VSU and the Faculty of Philology of Goce Delcev University outlined a plan for future cooperation.
