On 15 September, in the framework of the week of international education “VSU’s 100 Year History”, the Rector of VSU, Dmitry Endovitsky, had a meeting with a delegation from Spain comprised of representatives from Spanish universities.
“VSU has a very strong Spanish Language department. It is great that there are European programmes and projects that make it possible to cooperate, enhance the academic mobility of students and academic staff, and expand academic boundaries. Our partners from Spanish universities will agree that VSU has succeeded in this,” said the Rector of VSU.
“It is my first time in Russia and the memory of Voronezh and VSU will always dwell with me. I was quite impressed by the university. It is a university whose doors are open to the whole world and which shows its eagerness to cooperate with other countries. VSU is a wonderful partner. I hope that our cooperation will continue and develop further,” said the Vice Rector for International Relations of the University of Seville, Carmen Bargas.
“It’s been quite a while since VSU first became dear to me. I was very lucky to have Professor Anatoly Lomov, a great linguist, to consult me on my PhD thesis. When I worked on my dissertation I was a frequent visitor to Voronezh and VSU. It is a great honour for me to be present at such a great event, VSU’s anniversary, and to give a talk to students and graduates. In 1998, a centre of the Spanish language and culture was established at VSU with the support of the University of Granada. It is nice to know that the centre is actively developing today,” said Professor of Slavic Philology from the University of Granada, Rafael Guzman Tirado.
