Between 11 and 14 September, staff of the Department of Ecology and Land Resources of the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences led by Professor Tatiana Devyatova held a coordination meeting with international partners within the project Erasmus+ Capacity building "Human Resource Development and the Cooperation between Urban and Rural Areas for Sustainable Development of Metropolises".
European and Chinese partner universities were represented by: Associate Professor at the Department of Innovative Biological Systems, Paolo De Angelis (the University of Tuscia, Italy), specialist of the Academic Mobility Department, Vanessa Torri (the University of Tuscia, Italy), Associate Professor at the Department of Ecology, Yates Storfogel (Wageningen University, the Netherlands), and Professor, the Head of the Department of Ecology at the Forestry College, Cang Chen (the University of Agriculture and Forestry, China). Russian universities were represented by: Deputy Head of the Department of Academic and Scientific Cooperation, Mario De Martino (the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, Moscow), Associate Professor at the Department of Landscape Design and Sustainable Ecosystems at the Agricultural Technological Institute, Vyacheslav Vasenev (the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, Moscow), and Associate Professor of the Department of Ecology, Irina Andreyeva (Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Agricultural Academy).
One of the key events of the meeting was a round table discussion between representatives of universities and employers. Representatives of the following employers were actively involved in the discussion: occupational safety engineer from “Siemens-Semiconductors”, Irina Ushakova, environmental engineer at the Department of Occupational Safety from Voronezhsintezkauchuk, Oleg Popov, and Deputy Research Director at the Innovation Centre of the EFKO Group of Companies), Dmitry Cherenkov.
The meeting resulted in the development of the strategic plan for the project with consideration of recommendations by representatives of the Erasmus+ national office in the Russian Federation and creation of road maps for the project.
