Students of Voronezh State University won the first hackfest held by the integrated housing development institution DOM.RF in Voronezh.
The participating teams were allowed to choose from between 5 problems. They then had to develop a solution and present it to the experts. The problems included the following: creating a tool for assessing the investment attractiveness of a land plot; creating a chatbot which can consult clients on DOM.RF’s website; developing a solution for the search of construction sites and then displaying them on a map along with any other available information; developing solutions for presenting DOM.RF’s projects (development of the urban environment in Voronezh) via a website or mobile application; or developing a communication system for monitoring construction and development activities.
A team of students from our university, “Bro-tuny”, won and were awarded a prize of 300 thousand roubles. They developed a system for monitoring the construction process of housing facilities called HouseStages. This system could be used to provide clients with the latest information about the construction process, and give complete statistics regarding the developer’s projects and clients’ loyalty.
“Our idea was to make it possible for people who buy flats to just open the website and find there all the details about the construction process, look through photo reports, and learn about the prospective projects of the developer”, – said Alexander Petrov, a team member.
Another team, “Khakotyata”, consisting of first-year students of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Informatics, and Mechanics of VSU, Vasily Gudkov, Alexey Mitin, and Maxim Naumov, were awarded a 50-thousand-rouble prize by the company for their tool for assessing the investment attractiveness of land plots. They demonstrated that choosing land can be quick and pleasant. The developed tool may be introduced all over the country. The project is based on machine learning and object clustering. Experts from DOM.RF considered the project to be very promising. Alexander Vasiliev, head of IT-projects and methodology department of the company, said that the team had chosen a very difficult task and managed to find an excellent solution.
“Our idea is that a prospective buyer can open the website, select the desired filters, and find the best option”, – said the captain of the team, Maxim Naumov.
Another VSU team, “Spitfire”, was also awarded a grant for 50 thousand roubles for their application for searching construction sites on a map. Their web-service can search for apartments in housing facilities that are still under construction taking into accounts the requirements of the client.
“We are sure that some of the projects developed at this hackfest will be implemented in our company”, – said Alexander Vasiliev.
The company will also offer jobs to the authors of the best projects.
