Alla Shesterina, professor at the Department of Television and Radio Journalism of the Faculty of Journalism, won a grant competition in designing multimedia materials in the sphere of media literacy.

The competition “The Earth Is Flat – how to read media?” is a part of a large project run by the Goethe-Institut jointly with the education portal COLTA.RU. The project was initiated and supported by the European Union.

The organising committee of the competition selected Alla Shesterina’s project “Mediapsychology” as one of the best regarding the promotion of media literacy. Organisers of the competition seek to bring together the efforts of the most knowledgeable and experienced media experts and teachers from Russia and Germany to develop media education.

The aim of the project is to teach young people, teachers, and researchers how to use modern media, analyse it, and assess the source relevance and the accuracy of information.

The project will also include a series of workshops for teenagers, webinars for students of specialised universities, and lectures for everyone interested in modern media. The project also includes grants for developing media content and organising educational workshops on media literacy.
