Every term, international students from all over the world come to study at Voronezh State University. Most of them visit Russia and Voronezh for the first time. This term, we have representatives of Germany, Turkey, Spain, China, Estonia, Hungary, and France.
The first goal of Buddy Club volunteers is to help the interns adapt during the first week of their stay in Russia. They meet them at the airport or railway station, help them find accommodation, fill in migration forms, and solve different everyday life problems. The second goal is to organise events which contribute to intercultural communication between students, involve international interns in Voronezh student life, and teach them about cultural peculiarities of different countries.
In the first term of 2018–2019 academic year, Buddy Club organised 10 different events: a welcoming party, excursion, gastronomic tour, cinema club, Halloween, language tandem, literature meeting, international cuisine, farewell party, and the training session “Intercultural communication”. This year, Buddy Club received a grant of the Rosmolodezh Federal Agency for Youth Affairs which allowed them to hold events on a higher level.
Buddy Club volunteers are planning to organise a lot of interesting and varied events and invite all the interested people to take part in them.
