On 27 April, VSU held the semi final of the innovative project "The Innovation League". The participants, who spent 8 months working on their projects, presented their works to experts. The jury used several criteria to evaluate the schoolchildren's innovative ideas, including the project's novelty, innovativeness, importance, commercialisation opportunities, and other aspects.
The projects were dedicated to different spheres of life. For example, a team from Lyceum No. 1 (Maxim Avdeev, Artem Gabitov, Nikita Eryemin, Andrey Proskurin, and Dmitry Khukhryansky) presented a multifunctional pilotless aircraft. The young inventors said that it could be used to quickly bring a doctor to the patient before a ambulance arrives at the place or to combat fire in high-rise buildings with the help of fire-fighting equipment. Students from the Kvantorum children’s technopark, Dariana Pechkurova and Viktoria Petryakova tried to create a model of a microbial fuel cell to study and develop alternative energy sources which could generate electricity.
Now, the participants will have to take part in the final stage.
