On 13 September, the ranking of the top Russia universities in 2018–2019, according to the Vladimir Potanin Foundation, was published. This year, VSU takes 15th place in this ranking.
The ranking has been held since 2004 and is a recognised alternative instrument of assessment of the educational environment in Moscow and regional universities. The ranking is based on the results of students and lecturers who took part in educational programmes of the Foundation.
This ranking is based on the following parameters: an expert assessment of master’s degree students participating in the scholarship competition, the results of the grant competition for the tutors of master’s degree programmes, a contest of socially-oriented projects, and participation in the Vladimir Potanin Foundation School. One of the ranking criteria is the ratio of the master’s degree students participating in the scholarship competition of the foundation (the number of participants and the number of winners), as well as the number of university representatives participating in the Foundation School and the credits they got.
The Vladimir Potanin Foundation evaluates the IQ and the level of general knowledge of the students, i.e. the qualities that demonstrate the competitiveness level of the university’s graduates, their learning capacity, social position, and their willingness to learn more, as well as the degree of attention the university pays to the faculty.
