On 4 and 5 October, 5th National Bird Hunting Competitions “Falconer's rally 2019” took place at the nursery for carnivorous birds at the “Galichya Gora" nature reserve.
The programme of the event consisted of hunting bird competitions in different nominations. Falconers from different regions, from Kaliningrad to Yakutia, demonstrated their birds and their training skills.
“Such competitions have been organised at “Galichya Gora" for over 10 years,” said Nikolay Skolznev, the director of the nature reserve. “Our specialists are recognised as one of the best in Russia and our birds have no competitors. That’s why Voronezh seems to be the only right place for the competitions. The nature reserve is the venue for the official ceremony. However, the competitions themselves are held outside the nature reserve because hunting, even hunting demonstrations are banned here.
