On April 10, the leaders of Voronezh State University remotely took part in the eighth meeting of the working group on the organization of educational activities in the context of preventing the spread of COVID-19 in the Russian Federation. The meeting was held by the Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov. The meeting was attended by the President of the Russian Rectors' Union, Rector of Moscow State University, Academician Viktor Sadovnichy.
A number of issues were discussed during the meeting. The head of the Ministry spoke about the peculiarities of organising the activities of higher education institutions in 2020 in the context of preventing the spread of COVID-19.
“We work with all universities, sharing our experience. Now the issue of organising the session in a remote format is being discussed. Another important point is whether it is possible to organise an online admission campaign. I understand that there is a set of activities that cannot be performed online, but we will try to find efficient ways of organising this process. Moreover, we shift the dates of the Unified State Examination and enrolment dates. But we plan to start the next academic year on September 1, of course, taking into account the epidemiological situation, which is different in each region,” said the Minister.
He also noted that the student employment program applied during the coronavirus pandemic may become permanent. The systemic solution on the part of the ministry is that assistance will be provided to universities that are ready to employ students who will work in the interests of the subject of the Russian Federation or the university itself.
