Members of the VSU student teams, together with students from other universities of Voronezh, supported the initiative of the ex-governor of the Voronezh Region, Alexey Gordeev. They helped prepare food packages for low-income families of Voronezh.
“Student teams are not only working, but also taking part in various voluntary initiatives. When we were asked to help, we immediately decided to take action! Many families need humanitarian aid now. We are happy to contribute to the common cause”, commented the situation the leader of the VSU student teams headquarters, a 1st year master's degree student of the Faculty of Physics of VSU, Vladislav Golev.
Volunteers work at the central market in two four-hour shifts. Their task is to prepare food packages, which include milk, sunflower oil, cereals, stew, flour, sugar, and some sweets. All students are given instructions, as well as personal protective equipment: a mask, a pair of gloves, and antiseptic.
“Many families are in difficult situation now. People fall into despair, thinking that they have no one who can help them. Humanitarian aid is like a silver lining for them! This campaign is another reminder that there is kindness and compassion in the world,” said Angelina Kiseleva, a 4th year student from the Faculty of Applied Mathematics of VSU, a member the “Indigo” student social group.
