On 29 January, the first graduates of the master’s programme Healthcare management (specialisation “Management”) received their diplomas. The Dean of the Faculty of Economics of VSU, Professor Pavel Kanapukhin, and the Head of the Department of Economics and Organisations Management, Professor Yury Treschevsky, addressed the graduates.

“These are the first graduates of a unique programme that was developed using long-standing experience in training specialists and managers at the Faculty of Economics of VSU and aimed at the development of key competences required for effective management, taking into account special features of the healthcare field.” The Head of the master’s programme, Professor Larisa Nikitina, also thanked the Department of Health of the Voronezh Region for their trust and effective cooperation while implementing the programme.

Congratulating the graduates, Oleg Minakov, First Deputy Head of the Department of Health of the Voronezh Region, noted that it is important to move forward, gain new knowledge, and expand your competence.

“The idea behind this programme was that the graduates would become the drivers of healthcare development in our region.”

One of the graduates, Olesia Vavilova, Head of the Department of Coordination of Subordinate Institutions’ Activities of the Department of Health, emphasised, “It is important for the managers of medical organisations to possess up-to-date knowledge in the field of management.” Our pilot course was completed at the height of the pandemic caused by the spread of the coronavirus infection. VSU has provided the required conditions for obtaining such knowledge through distance learning.

“VSU gave us highly valuable knowledge which helps us to see the results of our efforts and plans and to determine what we are going to do next. At this stage of our lives, thanks to the professional academic staff, we have realised that receiving a diploma is not the end, but the start of new achievements, and this helps us move forward with confidence,” said one of the graduates, Irina Tulinova, head physician of the Voronezh regional clinical centre for AIDS prevention and control.
