On 11 March, it was reported that Voronezh State University is among the top 1,000 universities in the world. According to the Worldwide Professional University Rankings RankPro 2020–2021, it takes 496th position.
In this ranking VSU takes 21st place among 41 Russian universities and 241st place among the best universities in Europe.
The RankPro ranking is published annually by the International Council of Scientists in the framework of the Global World Communicator programme. The ranking takes into account a variety of criteria covering almost all activities in the educational organisation: the number and composition of students and academic staff members, general information about the university, academic information, communication opportunities, the university’s status in global and national rankings, as well as the results of an expert survey among members of the International Council of Scientists.
RankPro ranks universities in three areas:
- Academic ranking, i.e. academic opportunities at the university (it takes into account the number and composition of students and academic staff members at the university).
- Rankings from the BC-Index which evaluates how accessible is the information on the English version of the university’s official website (it takes into account the general information about the university and the data about the educational programmes offered at the university).
- Public rankings, i.e. the positions of the university in national and international rankings and the results of the expert survey of the members of the International Council of Scientists from over 40 countries.
