Olga Ivanova, a lecturer from the Department of Pedagogy and Pedagogical Psychology at the Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology, took part in the World Congress of Psychophysiology (IOP 2021) in China. The congress was held online in China between 7 and 11 September.
Olga Ivanova underwent a strict multi-stage selection and was among 300 people who presented their poster presentations on the website of the event. The lecturer recorded an audio message “Predictors of Emotional and Cognitive Disturbances in Prematurely Born Children”.
Olga Ivanova presented the first results of longitudinal (a scientific method that studies the same group of objects over an extended period of time. During this time, the relevant features of these objects can change significantly) research into the psychological characteristics of parents and spinal neurosonography and radiography of prematurely born children. The analysis was conducted at the perinatal centre, children's clinical hospital No. 1, and children's municipal out-patient centre No. 11 (Voronezh).
“The level of education of the mother and the age of parents influence the quality of care provided to the baby. Mature parents have a higher financial and social-economical status of the family, whereas mothers with a university degree look for the best healthcare methods,” said Olga Ivanova.
The results of the congress were published in a special volume of the “International Journal of Psychophysiology”.
