Between 3 and 7 September, an International Innovation Forum took place in Divnomorsk (Krasnodar Territory). The event was organised by the SAP University Alliance. As part of the forum, an international SAP eduthon dedicated to pressing environmental issues in Russia and over the world was held between 3 and 5 September.
Over 10 teams took part in the event, including the team from Voronezh State University “KosaITiki” that consisted of students from the Faculty of Computer Sciences. Professor Mikhail Matveyev, Head of the Department of Information Technologies in Management at the Faculty of Computer Sciences of Voronezh State University, was the expert of the team.
The participants of the eduthon listened to the presentations of SAP representatives, the lecture about design thinking by a representative from Stanford University in Korea, and a lecture about environmental issues in the Black Sea by the head of the laboratory of the Institution of Oceanography. They also had a meeting with Andrei Troitsky, senior logistics solution architect at SAP SE.
As part of competition, the teams had to follow all the stages of the design thinking approach: from the generation of ideas to the implementation of a prototype, including stating the topic’s relevance and conducting a survey to check if people are interested in the product. The team from Voronezh State University “KosaITiki” passed all the stages successfully and took first place. They presented a project dedicated to creating an infrastructure for centralised plastic collection for further recycling.
