The “JourPeople” project created by the Faculty of Journalism was included in the programme of the ХIII Moscow TV festival “Profession: Journalist”. It is an interview of third-year students Maria Zueva and Alisa Kasatkina with Alexey Filatov, a Voronezh TV and radio company journalist. The videos will be shown at the festival on 19 November.
The “JourPeople” programme is about a young journalist getting to know the leading figures of their profession. Famous journalists, cameramen, and photographers of the Voronezh Region are invited to the TV and radio studio of the Faculty of Journalism. Associate Professor Valeria Kolesnikova, Head of the Department of Electronic Media and Speech Communication at the Faculty of Journalism, acts as the manager and director of the project. In 2017, Alina Belokopytova, a student from the Faculty of Journalism, was awarded with a special diploma at the IX Moscow International Television Festival “Profession: Journalist” for her documentary film. And in 2019, one of the “JourPeople” programmes also received a special diploma from the XI International TV Festival. It was an interview with the journalist Leonid Shifrin from RIA Voronezh done by the student Yulia Paramonova.
The ХIII Moscow TV festival “Profession: Journalist” will be held at the Central House of Cinematographers between 15 and 21 November. The festival is organised by the Guild of Film Directors of Russia and supported by the Moscow Department of Mass Media and Advertising. The aims of the festival are to promote the profession of journalist and improve its image, to understand its role in modern society, and to encourage the works dedicated to journalists. The organising committee of the TV festival received videos from various cities of Russia and the Donetsk People’s Republic.
The festival’s programme will allow the viewers to watch documentaries, TV programmes, TV plots and reports talking about various aspects of journalists’ work and about professional journalists who are the best in their field.
The contest's works will be assessed by a jury consisting of Ekaterina Golovnya, member of the Union of Cinematographers, laureate of Russian and international film festivals, and documentary filmmaker, Roman Serebryany, secretary of the Union of Journalists of Russia and media expert, Evgeny Tsymbal, BAFTA winner, film director, and screenwriter, Mikhail Shchelkov (Vereshchagin), member of the Union of Journalists of Russia and teacher of speech culture and techniques, and Daria Muromova, creative manager and journalist.
