On 26 November, a workshop by Gabriel Borja Etlis, a lawyer and mediator, “Legal pluralism in intercultural mediation: Latin American experience of resolution of legal conflicts” was held at the Faculty of Law of Voronezh State University. The event was organised by the Department of the Theory and History of State and Law and Research and Education Centre of Legal Anthropology and Conflict Management at the Faculty of Law of Voronezh State University.
The meeting was held as part of the project that had become the winner of the grant contest among master’s programmes’ lecturers held by the Vladimir Potanin Foundation. Among the participants of the meeting were lecturers and master’s students from the Department of the Theory and History of State and Law.
Gabriel Borja Etlis is a social work specialist at the Ecuadorian Red Cross and a leader of the public organisation Ecuador Pacífico (Peaceful Ecuador). The participants of the workshop discussed the tasks of peaceful management of legal conflicts, the peculiarities of manifestations of legal pluralism when managing legal conflicts in Ecuador, and considered case stories of international cooperation and application of various techniques of managing legal conflicts.
