VSU Rector, Professor Dmitry Endovitsky, received a delegation from French universities that took part in the meeting of the research platform No. 4 “Multiculturalism as a Reflection of the Social and Political Integration”, which was held within the international forum “Linguistics and Challenges of the Modern Paradigm of Public Relations: Interdisciplinary, Intercultural, and Interlanguage Interactions” held by the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology. This platform had been organised in collaboration with a partner of VSU, the University of Lille (France), and the University of Nantes (France). Professors Garik Galstyan (University of Lille), Walter Zidaric (University of Nantes), and Catherine de Wrangel (University of Nantes) came to VSU to take part in the research platform. Antonella Mauri (Lille, France), Raphaël Eppreh-Butet (Lille, France), and Dahmani Bachir (Nantes, France) participated in the event online.
VSU and the University of Lille, the largest university in France, have an efficient cooperation agreement. The agreement sets the terms of students’ exchange programmes, reciprocal visits, and the development of double degree programmes. Additionally, VSU and the University of Lille cooperate within Erasmus+ projects.
Dmitry Endovitsky emphasised that the collaboration with France is very important for VSU. We have agreements with partner universities and the French Embassy in Russia within the framework of which a lot of cultural, research, and educational events are held. Professor Garik Galstyan (University of Lille) and Professor Elena Alexeyeva (VSU), the coordinators of a joint Erasmus+ academic mobility project which is being implemented at VSU and the University of Lille, told the rector that this project includes the research platform “Multiculturalism as a Reflection of the Social and Political Integration” where six professors from France presented their reports. Six VSU students received semester Erasmus+ scholarships for the second semester 2021–2022, one week reciprocal visits by lecturers who will give lectures in French universities were also agreed on for the spring semester.
In conclusion, Dmitry Endovitsky suggested developing the cooperation with the University of Lille by working out network education programmes and signing a cooperation agreement with the University of Nantes.
