The Faculty of Computer Sciences (the Department of Information Systems) opened the HUAWEI ICT Academy for bachelor’s and master’s degree students. Starting with the 2022–2023 academic year, the students will have an opportunity to study DataCom, Network Security, and WLAN at the academy. The disciplines will be integrated in the curricula of main bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes at the Faculty of Computer Sciences. Huawei provides the modern technologies, equipment, and teaching materials which will be used during the training. Among the lecturers at the academy will be certified staff members from the Faculty of Computer Sciences and telecommunication companies of the Voronezh Region. Upon completion of the programme, students will have to take an exam. The graduates of the faculty will receive bachelor’s or master’s degree diplomas, international certificates, and a diploma from the Huawei academy.
“HUAWEI ICT Academy will work within bachelor’s and master’s degree majors at the Department of Information Systems. This is an engineering programme that complies with international standards,” said Dmitry Borisov, the Head of the Huawei Academy programmes at VSU and the Head of the Department of Information Systems.
“A similar project has been successfully implemented as part of the Samsung Academy. Fruitful cooperation with global IT giants when training our students contributes considerably to a high quality of academic programmes at the Faculty of Computer Sciences,” said Alexander Krylovetsky, the Dean of the Faculty of Computer Sciences.
