Between 26 and 28 January, the first students of the 10.05.01 “Computer Security” programme graduated from the university. Among the lecturers of the academic programme were academic staff members from two VSU faculties: the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Informatics, and Mechanics and the Faculty of Computer Sciences as well as practising specialists from Voronezh.
Graduation theses are large-scale research in the area of computer security. They have been especially important and timely in recent years. The state examination committee praised the high level of both theoretical knowledge and practical skills of the students who used them to solve professional tasks. The research results have been presented at specialised conferences, two articles have been published, and software has been developed and recommended to be introduced at companies in Voronezh and the Voronezh Region.
Among the best theses were:
- Yegor Paramonov “Functioning and cryptoanalysis of Kuznechik block cipher” (supervised by Yulia Stepanets, PhD in Technical Sciences, Associate Professor at the Department of ERP-Systems and Business Processes)
- Grigory Chikov “Information attacks based on hash functions collisions” (supervised by Mikhail Ivankin, PhD in Technical Sciences, Associate Professor at the Department of ERP-Systems and Business Processes)
- Andrey Somov “Creating protected document management by means of cryptosecurity tools” (supervised by Sergei Vyalykh, PhD in Technical Sciences, Associate Professor at the Department of Information Security and Processing Technologies)
- Dmitry Tatarinov “Information Security in space-distributed computer systems with free-space optical communication channels and data communication” (supervised by Vladimir Popelo, PhD in Technical Sciences, Associate Professor at the Department of Information Security and Processing Technologies)
“Thank you to the scientific supervisors, examination committee, and the staff from the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Informatics, and Mechanics and the Faculty of Computer Sciences who made this possible. Since 2021 the 10.05.01 Computer Security programme has been implemented in compliance with the FGOSZ++ standard which customises the speciality to meet the requirements of the labour market. The scope of the graduates’ professional areas include: communication, information and communication technologies, and security,” said Vera Ukhlova, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Informatics, and Mechanics.
