Ekaterina Kurganova, Associate Professor at the Department of Public Relations, Advertising, and Design of the Faculty of Journalism at VSU, took part in the first Advanced module of the LIVE game-based learning workshop at the Skolkovo Management School. The module took place from 28 February to 4 March. It was the second part of a professional development programme for the VSU lecturers.
The Advanced module focuses on competencies for the design and implementation of educational and communication solutions based on game-learning techniques. The programme includes analysing the needs of the education sector, an introduction to the basics of educational engineering, scenario planning, and game modelling.
“The training programme gave me the opportunity to work with a great team, to design a pilot educational product based on game-learning in line with my values, and to get enriched intellectually and emotionally,” commented Ekaterina. “As a team, we worked on developing an educational solution addressing the issue of the cultural transition to sustainability for companies, which is one of the key trends in contemporary communication and business practices.” It is expected that VSU students will take part in testing the pilot.
Ekaterina Kurganova became a participant of the workshop due to her victory in the “Academic Landing” contest of the Scholarship Programme organised by the Vladimir Potanin Foundation. The contest aims at the development of important teacher competences within the framework of the professional mobility programmes supported by the Foundation.
