On 30 March, Energy Sector Career Day was held online, where employers could meet potential employees among students. The meeting was organised by OOO Everytale, with the support of the online career platform Facultetus and the Association for the Promotion of Financial Literacy. Voronezh State University was a co-host of the event. The aim of Energy Sector Career Day is to address skills shortages and increase competition in the energy market.

17,000 participants applied to take part in Energy Sector Career Day, including representatives from nine companies. The list of companies included the giants of the Russian energy sector: Gazprom, Gazpromneft, Rosneft, Novatek, Rosseti, Rosatom, Tatneft, and Surgutneftegaz.

There were several online panels held during Energy Sector Career Day. The panel on Corporate Policy of Major Russian Employers towards Young Professionals attracted the largest number of participants. Professor Pavel Seredin, Head of the Department of Solid State Physics and Nanostructures at the Faculty of Physics, VSU, was one of the speakers. He presented a talk about practical cooperation with a Russian employer, AO Corporation NPO RIF. Pavel Seredin spoke about the unique experience of cooperation between the Faculty of Physics and a Voronezh based industrial company. Today, the Faculty of Physics has joint master’s programmes with RIF and RIF provides employment opportunities for graduates of the faculty.

“The Centre for Career Development of VSU remains open to cooperation with the Everytale platform. We are very pleased to be not only participants, but also partners in such a major conference. Thanks to the Facultetus platform, we have found new channels for employing young specialists from VSU in the energy sector. The meeting provided an opportunity for closer contact with representatives of the oil and gas business in Russia. We are ready to offer our partners our experience in implementing master’s programmes and are open to cooperation with the Russian business community,” commented Ekaterina Mikhailyuk, Head of the Centre for Career Development and Business Partnership at VSU.
