On 14 April, a panel of stabilised moss in the form of the university’s coat of arms was installed on the first floor of the main building of VSU. This composition beautified and brightened up the interior of the academic building, creating a unique eco-friendly atmosphere. The structure will help to purify the air from dust, absorb excess moisture, retain heat, and reduce noise pollution.
Stabilised moss is very sensitive to external influences, frequent touching and exposure to liquids can lead to premature deterioration of the composition. So, let’s take good care of the stabilised moss panel so that it will serve as a unique element of the ecological decor of Voronezh State University for many years,” said Ruslan Korchagin, specialist at the International Relations Office of Voronezh State University.
In September 2022, an apothecary garden will open at the VSU Botanical Garden as another eco-initiative implemented as part of the Green Campus project. The apothecary garden will become a laboratory for students from specialised faculties: they will learn to plant, grow, and recycle medicinal herbs and to prepare herbal teas and drinks.
The Green Campus project has been running since October 2021. It is aimed at providing information about ecological policies, the development of ecological awareness, promoting environmental protection, and enhancing environmental activism in the academic community.
