The university’s students are champions of the Voronezh Region Universiade in chess

Representatives of Voronezh State University won first place in the Voronezh Region Universiade in chess. Second place went to students from Voronezh State Medical University, and third to competitors from Voronezh State Pedagogical University.

The VSU team consisted of Ilya Ioffe, Vadim Gorozhankin, Maksim Romanov, Alexander Chumakov, Andrey Rykin, Andrey Rudnev, Sofia Perch, and Marina Tsivilka. The team won with a margin of one point.

“Chess is interesting and very exciting. As it is a team competition, you also care a lot about your teammates. Anyway, we feel great,” said Andrey Rykin, a 2nd year student of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Informatics, and Mechanics and a member of the VSU team.
