On 4 May, Red Collar in cooperation with the administration of the Faculty of Computer Sciences of VSU organised an IT tour around Voronezh for students from the Faculty of Computer Sciences. The students visited the offices of DSR, Antilatency, and Red Collar.
As part of the career day at the Faculty of Computer Sciences, three top IT companies of the city opened their offices for students from Faculty of Computer Sciences, invited them to watch internal processes, and raffled branded merch sets. To go on the tour, students had to visit all stations at the career day at the Faculty of Computer Sciences, exchange the booklet for a personal number, and hope to win a place in a draw.
On 4 May at 10:00, the winners gathered at the main building of VSU.
The first stop on the route was DSR. In the company’s office, students learned how engineers deal with the Internet of Things: about IoT Gateways, devices, cloud services, and microcontrollers. They also learned about the full cycle of creating software: from development to testing on real devices. They had a short coffee break in the best traditions of student lunches: fruit-drinks, buns, and sausage rolls.
The next stop was Antilantency whose team is developing a tracking system for AR/VR, Virtual Production, Motion Capture, drones, and robotics. Here, the staff told the tour participants about how immersive technologies work and let them try them in action. Each participant had a chance to use a holographic display and walk around the office wearing VR glasses.
The final stop on the route was the office of Red Collar. The company’s team told the students about the IT market and the current employment procedure. The tour participants scattered around the office and approached Red Collar employees to ask them questions about Java development, project management, and testing.
All companies gave the students from the Faculty of Computer Sciences their merch gifts and told them in detail about the process of joining their teams: from internships to joining the staff.
