On 23 May, Maria Kurolap, Associate Professor from the Faculty of Pharmaceutics at VSU, gave an open online lecture in English for the students from Al Andalus University (Syria). The lecture was given as part of the academic mobility programme.

The report was dedicated to the basics of pharmacoeconomics. The lecturer considered three main issues: the issue of rational use of medications, main methods of pharmacoeconomic analysis, and case studies of pharmacoeconomic research conducted by Russian and international scientists in real medical practice. Maria Kurolap also presented the results of her own pharmacoeconomic studies related to the treatment of patients with primary open-angle glaucoma.

Second and fourth-year students from the Faculty of Pharmaceutics of Al Andalus University attended the lecture. They shared their opinions on the possibility of using pharmacoeconomic methods to rationalise the provision of medicines for the people of Syria and they also talked about their professional plans after the graduation.

The lecture was organised by Sali Dagir, a lecturer from Al Andalus University and a graduate of the postgraduate degree programme at the VSU Faculty of Pharmaceutics. Last December, Sali Dagir also gave an open online lecture on marketing for the students of the VSU Faculty of Pharmaceutics.
