Margarita Voloshenko, a fifth year student from the VSU Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology (academic programme “Translation and Translation Studies”, French language) won the seventh International Translation Competition Digital Arctic Transfer 2022 that was held in the Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov (Arkhangelsk). She took first place in the nomination “Translation from Russian into French” and second place in the nomination “Translation from French into Russian”.
“Margarita Voloshenko has already won several international competitions that were organised by the leading universities of Russia. In 2019, she took first place in the International Translation Competition HOMO INTERPRETANS (Volgograd State University together with the Union of Translators of Russia) in the nomination “Translation from French into Russian”. In 2021, she took first place in the International Youth Scientific Conference “Translation as a factor of science and technology development in the contemporary world” (Nizhny Novgorod State Linguistic University) in the nominations “Translation from French into Russian” and “Interpretation from French”. In 2020, she came third in the International Youth Scientific Conference “Translation as a factor of science and technology development in the contemporary world” (Nizhny Novgorod State Linguistic University in the nomination “Interpretation from French”. Margarita’s brilliant results confirm her great personal achievements as a talented student and also proves the high level of education that translators obtain at the Department of French Philology of VSU. The received experience will serve as a solid ground for her future professional activities,” said Professor Elena Alexeyeva, DSc in Philology.
