Between 2 and 4 September, a national 3x3 U18 basketball championship took place in Kaliningrad, in the centre for street basketball “Promsvtazbank for Children”. The winners among young men, were a team from Voronezh, “R2D2”. The team consisted of the athletes from VSU students’ sports club “Khitschnye Bobry” (Rapacious Beavers): Evgeny Babkin, Anton Kazinin, Nikita Yanishevsky, and Leonid Yudin.

The decisive match was between “R2D2” and the Perm team “Parma-M”. Also, Leonid Yudin, who scored the mains points during the match, became the best player of the tournament and received an MVP award of the championship of Russia (the most valuable player of the championship).

“How does it feel to be an MVP at the championship of Russia? It feels very nice for sure. Knowing that you have become the best 3x3 basketball player in Russia in the age category of under 18 fills you with emotions which are difficult to explain and I am still overcome with them. Naturally, the credit is not only mine. Without the guys I would have never received this award. I have every reason to say that now I am happy,” said Leonid Yudin.
