An exhibition of traditional crafts “Faith, Hope, Love” opened on the second floor (in the hall and VSU History Museum) of the main building of VSU on 21 September. It presents the works of Voronezh artists and handmade craftsmen, such as original dolls and folk costumes of Voronezh gubernia, handmade women’s shawls made of silk, and kokoshniks, Russian traditional head-bands. A modern art gallery called “Picturesque Voronezh”, created by Marina Silyutina, PhD in medicine, participated in the preparation of the exhibition.
The exhibition was opened with a performance by the FERMATA choir: these young guys and girls joined together to continue the traditions of multi-voiced singing.
“Thank you for your talent, you are helping us a lot in these hard times. Your paintings give us positive energy. And this is really good!” said VSU Rector Dmitry Endovitsky.
Visitors can see the works of Galina Kotelnikova and Lyudmila Dedova who make Karachun toys, ceramics “Voronezh lure” by Elena Shirokova, felting works by Lyubov Seredina, Russian folk costumes by Natalia Okolelykh, and original works by Irina Derbina titled “Faith. Hope. Love”. The exhibition also offered paintings by Voronezh artists, such as Viktor Boychenko, Viktor Donskoy, Nikolay Kharkovsky, Yuri Ponomarev, Sergey Brilkin, Elena Kuleshova, Olga Ponomareva, Svetlana Veselova, Alexandra Pavlova, Evgeny Fedorishchev, and Inna Moskaleva.
The exhibition will be open until 22 October.
