On 5 October, representatives of the Department of Pedagogy and Pedagogical Psychology of VSU took part in the conference “Integrative Care by Child Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists to the Children of the Voronezh Region”. The event was held as part of the 54th interregional specialised forum and exhibition “Healthcare of the Black Earth Region 2022”.

The event brought together over 120 clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, and speech therapists working in practical healthcare. VSU was represented by Olga Ivanova, Lyudmila Kunakovskaya, Anastasia Tokovaya, Marina Larskikh from the Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology, as well as students from the faculty.

The conference addressed the issues of specialised psychiatric care and emergency psychological care for children in temporary accommodation centres. The participants also discussed a set of counselling sessions on parenting skills for families bringing up children with special needs.

“The conference complemented the theoretical knowledge gained at the university with some practical insights. It covered topical issues from the field of psychology. It was also an opportunity to learn from the experience of practising experts, which is especially useful for future psychologists in the field of education,” said Yana Romanova, a master’s student from the Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology.

Marina Larskikh from the Department of Pedagogy and Pedagogical Psychology presented a report on “The Internet as a Factor of Psychological Troubles in Children and Adolescents”. The report highlighted the types of behavioural disorders associated with the intrusion of cyber technologies into a child’s personal space. Marina Larskikh also shared her suggestions on preventive measures and recommendations.

“It is important for students to attend such scientific and practical events. It enriches their scientific knowledge of the world, which is reflected in their coursework and final qualification papers. I am glad that the event was attended by bachelor’s and master’s students specialising in Psychological and Pedagogical Education. They actively asked questions, made notes of the reports that interested them,” said Olga Ivanova, Deputy Dean for Research Work of the Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology.
