On 5 October, the Faculty of Computer Sciences of VSU held its autumn Career Day. The event has become a tradition at the faculty. During the course of the event students have the opportunity to learn more about the IT companies that are part of the faculty’s ecosystem. Since the establishment of the faculty in 1999, it has grown and developed together with the IT industry in the region. The partner companies and their leading specialists have been actively engaged in the training of students. Over the 23 years of the faculty’s history, it has developed an ecosystem for training first-rate specialists. Its partners, international and regional IT companies, play a significant role in this ecosystem.
The autumn Career Day was attended by representatives of the following companies: DSR Corporation, Digital Economy League, AO Concern Sozvezdiye, Angels IT, Red Collar, DOM.RF, Sber, GreenAtom, Severstal-infocom, ITentika, OOO Delovoye Programmnoye Obespecheniye, Neoflex, R3DS. Masterclasses, lectures, and demonstrations were organised for the students in order to introduce them both to the company and to advanced technologies in more detail.
“We invite interested companies to cooperate closely in the field of IT education in order to train students with the cutting-edge and in-demand IT technologies, who can easily navigate the rapidly changing IT job market. Companies that are part of the faculty’s ecosystem are given the opportunity to influence the scope of education and attract the best students through a system of practical trainings and internships,” said Alexander Krylovetsky, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Sciences.
“Throughout the year, our company maintains close cooperation with the Faculty of Computer Sciences of VSU. Severstal-infocom participates in Career Days, organises interactive lectures, masterclasses, and excursions to the Voronezh office. It is important for us to maintain integration with the Faculty of Computer Sciences, as it provides the high-level IT education that our company wants its employees to have. We have an internship centre, which will again be recruiting students this spring. The key recruitment criteria for further cooperation are basic skills, the student’s desire to develop in the field of IT, and performance in the first stages of their work,” said Olga Sotnikova, Senior HR Manager at Severstal-infocom.
“For us, the successful cooperation with the Faculty of Computer Sciences and VSU in general is very important, because quite a few of our colleagues are graduates of the Faculty of Computer Sciences. We started out as the Russian development centre of the international company DataArt. In 2022, the Russian office changed its owners and began to operate as an independent company under the ITentika brand. We keep actively cooperating with the university, holding IT events, and sharing our experience and knowledge: today, Maria Demchenko, our Lead AI/ML developer, gave a lecture to students on the tasks that machine learning can solve. We are open for communication with everyone who is interested in developing an IT profession. Students develop quickly, all IT companies understand this,” said Viktoria Chernyshova, PR Manager of ITentika’s development centre in Voronezh.
