On October 8, a training for entrepreneurial competencies was held in the Algazinov lecture room of the Faculty of Computer Sciences in the main building of VSU. The event was organised within the framework of the federal project “Platforms of University Technological Entrepreneurship” – “Startup.Genesis”. The business game was attended by students of Voronezh State University, Voronezh State Technical University, and Voronezh State University of Engineering Technologies. The experts of the meeting were Elena Aleksandrova, value proposition development expert and moderator, and Andrey Grishin, General Director of OOO J. S. Corporation.
“Currently there is a lot of talk about entrepreneurship and start-up development. This area is being promoted, there is great interest and support from both the state and private investors, who are willing to invest in the processes. Therefore, it is very important to train people interested in developing in this area. As a result of the competitive selection, VSU became one of the training venues for the federal project, where students can gain basic knowledge of technological entrepreneurship through game experience” explains Maksim Gladkikh, organiser of the event, Deputy Head of the Department of Innovation Activity at VSU.
The training participants gained knowledge about technological entrepreneurship, organised the work of their teams, developed a plan for launching a smart business, diagnosed their competencies and capabilities, studied the needs of their clients, and developed a value proposition. Moreover, during the game, the teams designed a business model for their start-up and presented it to “investors”, raising funds for its development.
“The training provides an excellent opportunity for students to experience a reality that is not yet available for them in ordinary life. The business game allows participants to boost their leadership qualities, teaches them how to work properly in a team, and also allows them to feel like a technological entrepreneur and understand how interesting it all is,” says Elena Aleksandrova.
“Thanks to the training, we learned a lot about teambuilding and the proper way to use the strengths of all the project participants. Together, we economists and chemists were able to create a project that became a leader by the raised investments. Some things were already familiar to us, but there were many things we applied in practice for the first time. It was a great experience for all of us,” shared Denis Klepachev and Roman Kolodyazhny, students of the Faculty of Economic of VSU, members of the winning team “Flagship”.
“It is great that the training takes into account the different levels of knowledge of the participants and provides extensive theoretical material. As a result, all the teams boost their experience in practice on equal terms and learn from their mistakes, receiving feedback from expert practitioners. I particularly enjoyed speaking in front of the teams and presenting our project,” said Maksim Marchenko, a student of the Faculty of History at VSU.
The next training session will take place on 15 October in the main building of VSU. To take part, you need to register on the platform of the project, Entrepreneurial Competence Trainings.
