On 26–30 September, “Silicon–2022”, the 14th International Conference and the 13th School of Young Scientists and Specialists on Topical Issues of Physics, Materials Science, Technology, and Diagnostics of Silicon, Nanometric Structures and Devices Based on It were held in Novosibirsk. As part of the conference, oral and poster presentations were made by Sergey Turistchev, Head of the Department of General Physics of the Faculty of Physics, VSU.
The conference was organised by the Rzhanov Institute of Semiconductor Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Employees of the Department of General Physics of VSU and the research and education laboratory “Atomic and Electronic Structure of Functional Materials” (shared with the Kurchatov Institute National Research Centre) prepared the following papers: “Integration of the Dps protein with an array of silicon nanofilaments according to microscopic and X-ray spectral studies”, “Functionalisation of the developed surface of silicon nanostructures based on synchrotron studies”, “Study of integrated silicon nanoparticles when aligned with mammalian cells based on the synchrotron spectroscopy data”, “In-situ studies of electronic structure and composition of the 3D-developed filamentous silicon surface”, “Synchrotron studies of changes in composition, atomic and electronic structure during thermal treatment of thin-film tin epitaxial structure on silicon”, and “Functionalisation of porous SiO2 on silicon by copper nanoparticles to create biosensor structures”.
The presented studies was supported by the scholarship of the President of the Russian Federation № SP-189.2021.1 for young scientists, scholarship of the “Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia” within the agreement N 075-15-2021-1351, the project of the “Russian Science Foundation” 19-72-20180, and the project of the “Russian Foundation for Basic Research” N 21-53-12042 NNIO_a.
The 14th International Conference “Silicon–2022” continues a series of scientific conferences dating back to the All-Russian Meeting on Silicon held at the National University of Science and Technology (MISiS) in 1999. Since 2000, the School of Young Scientists and Specialists on Topical Issues of Physics, Materials Science, Technology, and Diagnostics of Silicon, Nanometric Structures and Devices Based on It was held in parallel with the conference.
“Over the years the event has become the key discussion platform for the scientists representing the academic communities, universities, and industries of Russia and other countries. The main topics of discussion are the production of metallurgical grade and polycrystalline silicon, growth and material engineering of bulk crystals and thin films of silicon and related materials, as well as the physics, technology, and diagnostics of nanostructures based on silicon. The research capabilities of the VSU teams are in high demand by the community of scientists participating in the conference,” said Sergey Turischev.
