On October 11, in the main building of VSU, a meeting with representatives of the world's leading eyeglass optics company EssilorLuxottica and the regional leader in the production of eyeglass optics OOO Tochka Zrenia was held. The companies are engaged in the production of eyeglass lenses and lens processing equipment.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the university management: Rector Dmitry Endovitsky, Vice-Rectors Elena Chupandina and Oleg Kozaderov, Dean of the Faculty of Physics, Head of the Department of Optics and Spectroscopy Oleg Ovchinnikov.
The participants of the meeting from the companies were Stanislav Slautinsky, director of OOO Tochka Zrenia and representatives of the management of EssilorLuxottica: Vladimir Zolotarev, director of educational and professional support, commercial director Elena Balayan, and director of partnerships Marina Vildanova. The participants of the meeting discussed promising areas of cooperation between companies and VSU and, in particular, the development of joint educational programs in the medical optometry, including the creation of a new programme in optometry.
– VSU, the Department of Optics and Spectroscopy have been closely cooperating for more than seven years with the company OOO Tochka Zrenia, which initiated the opening of new SVE programme “Medical Optics”. Graduates of this programme actively work as optometrists in OOO Tochka Zrenia and in other companies. “Cooperation with the world leader in the manufacture of eyeglass optics, EssilorLuxottica, will not only improve education in the area of optometry, but will also provide an opportunity for scientific development in this area” said Oleg Ovchinnikov.
