On 1 November, representatives of the Department of Nuclear Physics at the Faculty of Physics of VSU held an online meeting with their partners. Representatives of Novovoronezh NPP and Balakovo NPP of AO Concern Rosenergoatom spoke about job prospects and internships for the university’s students. The meeting was organised by the relevant department of the Faculty of Physics and the Career Development and Business Partnership Centre (CDBPC) of VSU.
The meeting was moderated by Ekaterina Mikhailyuk, Head of the CDBPC, Larisa Titova, Head of the Department of Nuclear Physics, and Viktor Vakhtel, Associate Professor of the Department of Nuclear Physics, responsible for employment issues. Representatives of VSU noted the importance of online meetings of students with energy companies and large NPPs, which have become a tradition. This time, the event was attended by final year students of bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes, and specialist’s degree students.
“The Department of Nuclear Physics offers bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes in Nuclear Physics and Nuclear Technologies. This year we have the first intake of students for specialist’s degree in Nuclear Power Stations: Design, Operation, and Engineering. As the number of our students is expanding, as well as the number of cities and countries they are from, we are interested not only in maintaining the existing relations with Novovoronezh NPP, but also in establishing new contacts with Balakovo NPP,” said Larisa Titova.
Marina Cherneva, specialist of HR department, Vasily Zykov, Deputy Head of Reactor Shop 2, Natalia Rodionova, human resources specialist of Personnel Development Department, outlined the job prospects and social opportunities for potential employees of Balakovo NPP. Jobs at Novovoronezh NPP were presented by Natalia Bodrova, Head of Personnel Department.
Afterwards, employees of the partner companies answered questions from the representatives of the Department of Nuclear Physics. In particular, they highlighted the details of the internship programmes, the selection, and preparation for them. The representatives of the two NPPs noted that the cooperation is focused on the further target employment of every interested student and graduate of VSU.
